I have nerve damage from shingles - I got it for my 50th birthday before I even considered getting a vaccine for it. It turns out to be very common especially in white women to have this condition where the "rash" goes away but the nerves are damaged permanently and the pain never goes away. Also turns out that the reason so many people get shingles these days is due to the chicken pox vaccine now regularly given to children. They say it used to be that there was a small background level of chicken pox in the environment that fighting it off actually prevented it from recurring as shingles, but now that they are eliminating chicken pox (which is a relatively mild and short-term child illness) it's causing more and more people to get shingles, which is a seriously painful and debilitating adult condition - in terms of productivity lost, insurance costs, etc., shingles is way worse than chicken pox. So we eradicated chicken pox in children which was a mild illness and relatively inexpensive to society to just live with, but the trade-off is that more adults get shingles now, which is serious and relatively expensive for us to just live with - makes sense, right. And that's why they push shingles vax so hard these days, remember when we were kids nobody ever hardly heard of shingles. ANYway, I have permanent nerve damage from shingles. And medical CBD has helped it quite a bit, the actual pain is less now. There's also a mental side, I don't know what to call it - despair, depression, irritability - that comes along with being in constant chronic pain that's never going to go away - that I feel is worse than the pain itself - that the CBD absolutely definitely helps.
