We have come to similar realizations. Thank you for your kind words. I chose to stay in the home as I was soul connected to my Father. He was an excellent provider and protector despite having a grade 4 education. As the 12th one born, I was abused by older brothers, then again raped by two co-workers, and then by a girlfriend and her lover who "roofied" me. I am Happy living alone with one cat. I am a care giver in long term care, because I know what Love is and it is my calling to shower my Elders with it, and Compassion. When my Mother was told she may die in a week, she turned from the doctor, looked at me, and said, "It's as it should be." I was stunned. She did pass in a week, and that Beautiful Gift has held me together, stronger than ever. I sense you live this Truth as well.

I am 64 years old, and was locked up as a child for 8 years in a Government Reform school from the time I was 8 till 16...for the crime of running away from a dysfunctional home...back then, parents could just sign a paper that you were unmangeable and you became a ward of the court...the fact that they were raging alcholics didn't factor into it all, before Childrens Aid etc....off you went for an indeterminate sentence in a child prison...I came out and tried for years to tell people what went on...nobody gave a shit...it was like get away from me as if you were diseased, so.
